What I bought in Melborune!

I LOVE SHOPPING IN MELBOURNE!

I live in a sort of country-ish town, so going shopping in Melbourne gives me a chance to go to all the shops that we don't have.  This trip i bought a lot of Winter clothes since Winter is coming up and I needed new clothes.

I am a sucker for dark clothing especially gray I love my gray clothes but I also love bright clothing. I'm a tad disappointed I brought so much dark clothing but I guess its the colour in Winter.

We spent hours looking through all the shops and I think I came back with a lot of goodies!  I loved everything I brought!

I bought this at Valleygirl, only payed $40. I love it I wore it last night and I've gotta say it was great.  I don't know if the picture is very good but it is a darkish brown colour, I don't have many jackets for some reason so I'm glad I brought this one!

I got this cardigan at Valleygirl as well only payed $15!!! BARGAIN.. It's a sort of creamy gray colour which I need!

This was from Bardot, I payed a bit more money for this one $70 but I thought it was worth it.  I love wearing knitted dresses and tops so I knew that this was the sort of thing for me.  Would love very nice with a pair of boots.  You could wear this out and about so wear it casually so I think it was a good buy.

Front
Back
Brought from Bardot and costing $70 again. This is a awesome top, all serious at the front and all party at the back, ha.  It looked good when I tried it one so I thought why not! Once again this could be casual or a party top.

I needed new flats because I go thought them pretty quick.  I always buy them at Ruby shoes because they are cheap and there shoes are cute as.  I got these ones 2 for $30 which was pretty good.

I brought this at Hairhouse Warehouse.  I was watching a YouTube video I believe it to be a video by JLovesMac1 she was talking about this Macadamia Oil product and how she uses it and its really good. So when I came across it I thought I'd give it a go so I just brought a small packet. I haven't used it yet, I'll blog about it when I do but yeah I thought I would give it a try.

Katy Perry Concert

Hey!

On Thursday night I went to the first Katy Perry concert in Melbourne on her California Dreams 2011Tour.

My ticket and next to it was the confetti that was shot out at the finale.

It was FANTASTIC, she is such a great entertainer and performer.  It was so much better then what I was expecting. She is a great singer life and was very confident and outgoing on stage.  Even some lucky people got to go up on stage and dance with her.  The tickets I got were alright, they were like front on tickets but we were quite far back but you could still see alright.

When we got there was got these cool promotional GHD/Katy Perry bands.

The stage and props used were so cool there was cupcakes, bubbles, clouds, meat? (there was a point to it i promise haha) and lollies.  She worked the stage good and all her dancers were great.

I haven't been to many concerts, it was my first big one in Melbourne and I thought so highly of it, hopefully all concerts are like this!

I also learnt a few things about her:

1. She can play the guitar.
2. All her songs are awesome!!
3. She is soo fit, her legs were all muscle NO FAT.
4. She CAN sing live not like others *cough Fergie Cough*.

All the photos I got were pretty shit I won't lie just because I was so far back and everything was blurry and to get a good shot I have to zoom in heaps soo this is what I ended up with..

A shot of Melbourne, my flash wasn't working.. shattered!

Just a few pic's before the concert!

This was the stage set up, this was before she came on.

This was the first time she was on stage she popped up from under the stage.

This was when she was singing "E.T", the lights were crazy during this song it was amazingly cool.  They were like lazer beams everywhere. She was dressed as a Cat!

She was singing "Thinking of You" while playing the guitar, beautiful.

I also bought this T-Shirt!  The sizes were men's which was a bit silly, this is a small in a men's.

Drinking Games

Firstly, HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE!

Secondly, on Saturday night I played a few drinking games with a few mates and they were great fun!

We Played Kings (what we usally play) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kings_(card_game)
- You don't have to just go by the rules that it says, making up your own its just as fun.
- We use a rule called "Box Head" you have to wear a box on your head until someone gets the "insert any number here".

Just Me, Cat and Nat as Box Heads!

We also played Buffalo (a new one) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buffalo_(drinking_game)
- You can combine this game with a lot of other drinking games. We used it within the Beer Blow game.

The last one we played was Beer Blow (you don't need to have beer) http://www.ehow.com/how_2042050_play-drinking-game-beer-blow.html
-This one was a lot of fun and very hard, none of us were about to do it haha.

Here is Cathrine in action playing Beer Blow!

Thirdly, If you know any great drinking games let me know!

You are special.

Everyone goes through ups and downs and makes mistakes.  Sometimes you just need  to motivate yourself to think positive.  It may be hard but it will be worth it in the end.

There is a positive in every experience that you have, you just have to focus on the positive way of thinking when dealing with the situation.

10 Favourite Film Intros/Credits

A film intro/credits are the sequences at the start of the film.  There has been some great ones over the years and I'm going to share my favourites.

1. Watchmen

(only version I could find on youtube was a fast one, see it in normal mode, its better.)

Why I like it:  It is a fantastic opening sequence, it gives you the history off the Minutemen and Watchmen in a clever way.  It is a long sequence about 8min long but when I watched it at the cinema I never wanted it to end.  The song "The Time's Are A Changing" by Bob Dylan is the perfect song to have over this sequence because it relates to the political matters that are explored within the film.  It not only explores certain historical events such as the moon landing but it also changes these events incorporating them with the watchmen, showing what would have happened if there Watchmen were real and how they interfered with historical events.  I could go on forever about how I love this sequence, but I won't. :)

2. Se7en

Why I like it: Whats not to like, this sequence was everything that thriller movies should be and more.  This sequence freaked me out massively!  It sets the mood of the film perfectly and give the audience a snap shot into the mind of this twisted freak.  Great film, great opening sequence, great ending I might add as well.  This film is not for the squeamish so have a strong stomach when watching this.

3. Zombieland

Why I like it: Love the slow-motion, this sequence gives you a great feel towards what this movies is about without anyone haven't to explain it.  The music is also terrific but you could put any number of songs there and it would still be amazing!

4. Eurotrip

Why I like it: This is a funny funny movie and this title sequence is great.  The song "Talking bout' my Generation" is just so relevant to the story, and having it in a European language really gets the audience on board for a Europe themed movie.

5. Reservoir Dogs

Why I like it:  There are two sequences in Reservoir Dogs which are worthy of this list.  One the Opening Scene with the 'dogs' talking about Madonna's "Like a Virgin" - so much of what they said were great points and there talking about tipping even more great dialogue, it just shows that QT is the dialogue master!  The second scene was the title credits with "Little Green Bag" - epic!  This title has started a phenomenon with people trying to copy it, it will never be forgotten in popular culture any time soon.

6. American Psycho

Why I like it: What's not to like, Christian Bale, in his jocks, flexing his amazing muscles, HOT! As well as that the introduction to Patrick Bateman is great, it gives you a front row seat in the mind of Patrick Bateman and sets up his character beautifully.  Bales totally owns this role as well! He is great in everything that he is in.

7. Trainspotting

Why I like it: Clever, quick introduction to what's the main plot of the film and the dialogue is bloody amazing.  The fast pace and dialogue are what makes this intro so great.

8. X Men Origins: Wolverine

Why I like it: It reminds me of the Watchmen one, its sort of going through events in history and adding the characters own personal touch into it.  Its pace is great you still get to see the credits when the action stops.  Its a quick introductory into what the main characters went through in the years leading up to when the story is set.  Also, you can see how the character's development though the war.

9. Superbad

Why I like it: It is funny and clever.  It gives an insight into what these to boys are like, the colours and music make this film seem like its set in the 70's or 80's which I felt the film referenced a lot.  They have the moves, alright!

10.Scream

Why I like it: This opening started a new revelation.  This opening was something that no one had ever seen before.  Yeah I might be a little obsessed with the Scream films but you can't say that this opening was not one that will be remembered forever.  This is just an epic scene.

Honorable Mentions
Scream 2 - This defined the revelation that the first film set.
Kiss Kiss Bang Bang - Love its stylistic elements.

April Fav's

These are my favourite things for April!

1. New Dress

I got this from Jay Jay's I never go in there anymore and this one day I did I found heaps of clothes that were my style in the bargain bin, I got this for $15!!!! Super Saving!

2.Papaw Ointment

This stuff is great! You can put it on anything, I put it on my lips and dry skin on my face.  You only need a little bit at a time, this tube will last ages! I think I bought this particular one at Chicken Feed (LMAO) but you can get them at any shop that has cosmetics really, supermarkets, Priceline etc.

3. G (Gwen Stefani  Purfume)

I LUVVVV this perfume. This is MY scent! I wear it all the time, mostly to events or nights out.  Ive been using this for over 2 years! Love it, the smell most reminds me of Malibu Rum so it's very coconuty but fruity. All the other scents in this range are great except for one which I think is called Baby.. so stay away from it.  Once again Priceline, Myer etc will stock this. Looking usually at $60.

4. Fossil Purse

This is my purse.  I got it for my birthday last year so I've had it for about 7 months.  It had lots of card space but not so much for coins.  I love the design, the brand Fossil has a lot of things in this style, they have many different types of bags and purses. I got this one from Myer, they also can be ordered online or found on Ebay.  I think it was around $70.

5. Vaseline Hand Cream

Working in a Deli your heads get tooo dry its not funny.  This stuff is really good I use it during my shift and after.  I hate having dry hands.  This stuff is also very good for your nails (since its hand and NAIL cream) but the Vaseline brand has different cream for different things.  Nearly everywhere would sell this.

6. Rekodelig Cider

Seriously, if you are a person who hasn't tried this stuff yet you are missing out!!  My cousin introduced me to this cider.  I had never had any type of cider before but this stuff is AMAZING.  The Strawberry-Lime is to die for!  The pear is very tasty, Mixed Berry wasn't so good and I haven't tied Apple but I'm guessing its good.  But yeah Strawberry-Lime is perfect with ice, lime and strawberries in it on a relaxing Friday night.  Its not something you would buy to get drunk off.  They cost around $5-7 a bottle depending where you go, Dan Murphy's I think is the cheapest I've seen so far.

7. Empire Mag

This months Empire was pretty good, There are a lot of upcoming movies that I am interested in that were featured such as SCREAM 4, Thor, Green Lantern etc (I love my super heroes). Empire is sold anywhere that magazines are costing usually $8, I haven't bought one in ages so it might have changed (I have a subscription).  And while I'm on it if you buy this every month go get a subscription, you get free DVD's I received 2 copies of  "The Shining" on blue ray and 2 copies of "A Nightmare on Elm Street" - two of the remake but one featured the original on it as well.) I know what you would be thinking "why would I wants 2 copies?" - Too sell on Ebay of course..

8. Supercouch

If you haven't already made a super couch GO DO IT because it is so much fun!  This is my team ^ I like to think I am a SUPERcouch ha.  GO THE DEE'S!!!
9. SCREAM Movies

If you haven't seen Scream 4 yet, DO IT! It's a great film.  Speaking of which all the movies are great. If you see it tell me what you think of it!  Watch the first 3 and then go see 4, its a good idea to be lazy and have fun with a few friends.  Come on guys its the holidays your allowed to be lazy and eat crap might as well do it watching some scary movies.  I miss being 15 having sleepovers and watching scary shit, eating shit and talking shit. GOOD TIMES!

10. Nail Polish!

(Sorry for on picture, the lighting won't work with my hand/nails)

I miss wearing nail polish, working in a Deli were "not allowed" too.  Stuff this I miss wearing interesting colours that reflect my mood.  So the last few weeks I have done just that.  I started with Clear (started off safe), then went to pale pink (slowing getting there), then had orange (oh I went there) and this week I have a hot pink colour called Coral.  Revlon have really nice colours and stay on for ages so give them a try.

Hope this post was interesting! xx
