What I am loving ATM?

I am going to start sharing a few things that I am loving at the moment.  I am hoping that people will read this and be open to the possibility of new things that they might not have ever heard of.

Music:

ASTA - Mt Heart is on Fire

ASTA has most recently won Triple J's Unearthed High with this breakout hit.  Love the style, will def make my summer play list.

Bag Raiders - Not Over

I have  always enjoyed the Bag Radiers's music and this song has been playing on my iTunes non stop.

Movies:

VS (All Superhero's Must Die)

This cam to my attention on Youtube and I have to say this looks like a really cool movie.  Will defiantly be catching this one.

TV:
Emily Owens MD

I taped this show my accident a few weeks back and I have to say I love it!  I usually hate the awkward, accident prone, geeky girl character but I really enjoy this one.  Emily Owens gets  thumbs up.

Clothes:

Its summer so I am bringing out the dresses.  I am in love with Stripey Maxi dresses at the moment, I think they are really trendy and stylish for this season.  I bought one the other day and can't wait to wear it--unfortunately I have really really bad sunburn :(

I hope you guys like this short and sweet post.  Have a great weekend!

American Horror Story--Asylum Episode 7

Episode 7 wasn't the best episode of American Horror Story  Asylum. I think it was really muddled and didn't flow like they usually do.

This episode just confirmed my suspicions without directly saying it.  The new Bloody Face will defiantly be Dr Thredson's son who will be born after he raped Lana.

How much bad luck can one women have.  Poor Lana, can't catch a break at all.  I feel so sorry for her.  She will end up pregnant by Thredson and probably die either in  child birth or in the hands of Thredson.

I was disappointed that no present day stuff was incorporated in this episode.  After such a gripping storyline last week it was disappointing that they didn't continue it.  Hoping that next week we catch a glimpse of what is happening.

I am finding this whole Grace and Kit storyline a bit boring now and I was surprised that she died.

Nice to see another familiar face in Frances Conroy as the Angel of Death (or its equivalent).  Love seeing people from first season back.  Hope she is in more episodes.

Finally it is out that Mary Eunice is possessed and Jude was the one to work it out.  This will be interesting to see how this plays out.  I see a cat fight coming on.  I actually really like Mary Eunice's character now, compared to how she was in the start.

The ending of this episode was so average I don't even remember what happened--usually they end on amazing moments.

After an average week of plot lines and acting, next week will surely be better.

Who else found this episode a tad disappointing?

American Horror Story—Asylum Episode 6

This show can do no wrong.  It is just brilliant.  It is only half way through the season and I feel like it has handled so many brilliant stories in its small amount of time.

I thought this while watching the show: 'how are they going to continue the present day storyline?'  Adam Levine is dead, wife—doomed and the team of random bloody faces, can't possibly be the Bloody Face.
But they have done it, fabulously.  I love that 'a' Bloody Face—not 'the' Bloody Face—is continuing what Dr Thredson obviously started.  The voice of this new mysterious Bloody Face was that of none other then Dylan McDermott, from the first season. of AHS  I think the hush hush on what he would be doing this season has been perfect, as I did not see this coming at all.
The present day storyline is now the storyline that is drawing me in to the show the most.  Can't wait to see what happens.

But this present day story also raises a lot of questions.  Does Dr Thredson get caught?  As nothing is said in the present day that suggests the the mistaken Bloody Face, Kit, is ever set free and the real one, in turn, caught.  Is this new Bloody Face related to Dr Thredson—as it is set 48 years from when he was Bloody Face—Dylan McDermott could easily be his son?

We will find out in due time.

This episode did not feature much of Kit or Grace,  or much stuff to with inside the asylum.  Most of it was backgrounds on the monsters of the series.  We learn that Dr Thredson hasa  mummy issue and thats why he skins women—who are all 33 years of age and the age of his mother when she left him.  We also learn that Monsignor Timothy Howard knows about what Dr Ardin has been doing in the asylum, but he didn't know how monstrous his experiements really are, until know.  I really thought that he would stand up against him, being a priest and all.  If he really was a man of God he would put a stop to Ardin's horrifying experiments, not save his own ass.

We get a bit of Mary Eunice's background—very typical background if you ask me.

Sister Jude is apparently leaving he asylum.  Hands up if you think this will actually happen?  I don't I think the creators wouldn't take her out of the asylum.  She will either stay, as Monsignor Howard will have a change of heart, or she will be a patient herself in the asylums walls.  I say this because she could easily be blamed for the Nazi hunters death as he claims a 'nun' attacked him.

Can't wait for next week and some answers!

American Horror Story—Asylum Episode 5

Spoiler Heavy Post

I knew it! I knew it!
Yes! Yes! Yes!

I love that Dr Thredson is Bloody Face!  This whole episode  it was stuck in my mind, why does he want Lana out so bad?  I think stated that he wants her to write his story, maybe that is all it is?  But I do see Lana not coming out of his alive.  Zachary Quinto plays such a good bad guy!  Did anyone else see this magnificent twist coming?

While I was watching this episode I kept looking at him and past memories of Syler (from Heroes) were appearing in my head.  Syler and Thredson, are one of a kind.

And poor Kit has confessed to killing his wife, that darn Thredson, he is a tricky bastard.  But smart!  I wonder if he ever was a psychologist.  My bet is that he killed the real Dr Thredson and his body will appear at some point before the season is finished.

In other not so much major asylum news, turns out that 'Anne Frank' was just a wannabe post-natal depressed housewife.  But she is correct about Ardin, as we learn from the photos up on her Nazi poster board.

And wow, Shelly is on the loose!  I found that scene to funny to watch just because  of the teachers reaction to the child screaming about a monster.  Turns out she was right!  I wonder where Shelly can go from here?  I don't think she will get too far.

A question popped up during this episode.  Why save Kit from sterilisation and not Grace?  Why does Jude do this?

Also speaking of Jude, what a frisky ferret.  She loves it.  But I still can't help but find her story lines boring, I prefer her romance with Howard and her combating with Ardin.

American Horror Story—Asylum Episode 4

In this episode we learn a little more about Grace—which I have been waiting for ever since the show started. She tells Kit that she was framed for the murder of her Father and Step Mother. But as the show goes on we learn that she actually killed her Father and Step Mother because of the abuse she was receiving. I found it a really hoot that the creators depicted her as an innocent girl and then showed that she actually is a crazy killer.

The whole Anne Frank aspect of this episode was fine—I don't know much about her but I do like how they incorporate famous names into their episodes. I enjoy the aspect of an alternative interpretation.

Ardin a nazi—would never have guessed ...

Kit second guessing his sanity was an interesting subplot, you would think that all of the people locked up in their would do that same. I still think he is innocent though, Bloody Face is still out there.

Speaking of Bloody Face, Dr Thredson is number 1 on my radar list as the serial killer. This is because of gross scene involving Lana, I don't think there is any psychologists out there that would make a patient do that. I get the feeling that there is more to him. Why does he want to get Lana out of the asylum so bad?

What the hell is going on with Shelly. I feel so sorry for the poor girl. Since that start I would have never thought that she would end up like this. Damn that Ardin! He is a sick fiend and I hope he gets his now that 'Anne Frank' has seen Shelly.

Another great episode!!

American Horror Story—Asylum Episode 3

*Sorry for late post I have been doing school work*

Oh my, wow!
What an ending this episode had.
I really really like Shelly and it is sad that Ardin had to cut half of her legs off.  I think this is just the beginning with Ardin and his weird behaviour.

Another thing that really intrigued me this episode was the interaction between Lana and Dr Thredson.  But it does make me question him and his motives.  I know he believes that Lana is not crazy but why would be go to her house to check up on her girlfriend?  I mean for all he knows Lana could be a whack job.  I just think its strange that he makes sure an effort for her.

I knew it! Sister Mary is being possessed by Satan.  It just made to much sense late episode that it was in fact Satan.  One thing I want to know about Sister Mary is why one earth was she helping Dr Ardin in the first place with his creatures?  I can understand why Satan would help hm, but why was she helping him before she was possessed?  I guess it might just be because of her weak personality and she might get persuaded easily.

Is it just me or do other find Sister Jude a bit boring?  I like her character but I feel that I am finding her subplots and story's boring compared to the other action that is going on in the show.  What do you guys think?

Can't wait to see what happens in the next episode, it was left on such a high point!

Tips: Surviving a Horror Film

It is safe to say that I have seen my fair share of horror films and everyone of them brings a new idea of how you can survive them.  There will be potential spoilers in this post, so read at your own expense.

Here are my tips to surviving a horror film.

1. Have a bad-ass twin brother.

Note: This doesn't work for twin sisters, they are usually evil.

2. Never get into a car with Thomas Jane.

As we learnt in The Mist (2007)

3. Being LL Cool J improves your chances.

Epic survival in Deep Blue Sea, not so much in Halloween: H2O.

4.  Don't be friends with Sidney Prescott.

She has a bad track record with losing friends via stabbing.

5. Don't ever take for your life for granted, Jigsaw will find you and 'play a game'.
* Warning: Play his games with caution most end up in death.

Think before you overindulge in your twenty-first century-ish life.

6. If you find a old and mysterious journal, which features a passage of writing in a foreign language, don't under any circumstances try and read it you dumb-ass.
* Also works in conjunction with mysterious unlabeled video tapes, just don't go there.

We have all seen the crazy shit that happens in the The Evil Dead and Cabin in the Woods.

7.  Next time you and your shitty friends accidentally kill someone: go straight to the police.  That mistake will follow you for the rest of your life--literally!

You might get 25 to life but at least you keep your life.

Goodluck and Godspeed.

American Horror Story—Asylum Episode 2

American Horror Story—Asylum

Episode 2—Tricks and Treats

Cya later Adam Levine!

This episode has introduced the idea that Kit isn't Bloody face.  I love the idea that Bloody Face is someone else and it will be interesting to see how this unfolds—I enjoy a good mystery.  At the moment my suspicions line up with Dr Arden, only because of his escapades outside of work.  If he isn’t Bloody Face then he still is a sick man who kills/tortures women.  He is a creepy, discussing, old man!

I thought Sister Jude was so evil giving Lana that shock theory just because she wants her to forget what she knows about the asylum for a news story.  What Sister Jude was doing is kidnapping and torturing, she had no reason to do that shock theory!  This just reinforces that Sister Jude is a bitch.

Yay, Zachary Quninto!  His character of psychiatrist Oliver Threadson is sent to the asylum to evaluate the Kit and determine if he is insane or just a psycho killer.  He seems like one of the good characters and looks like he will be counting Sister Jude a bit.  This shall be fun to watch.

The exorcism plot to this episode was so chilling; we were able to find out more about Sister Jude’s past through the demon and the mistakes she has made, for instance being promiscuous and being involved in a hit and run.  Mary now has the demon inside her; there is no doubt about it.  The demon seems really powerful and has ever knowing knowledge so it makes me believe that it might be, in fact, the devil.

I guess only time will tell, can’t wait until next week!

American Horror Story—Asylum Episode 1

American Horror Story—Asylum

Episode 1—Welcome to Briarcliff

I first heard of the show American Horror Story surprisingly on Perez Hilton … interesting I know.  He provided a clip of the opening credits and I was shocked how creepy it was.  Ever since then I have always watched out for it, but didn’t start watching it until the first season had finished.  Best thing I had ever done because I didn’t have to wait week by week to see the next episode!

Anyway, I was looking very forward to the second season of the horror anthology show—its right up my alley!

I have to say that this first episode of Asylum blow my mind! It was incredible, just what I wanted from the creators.

I am just going to talk about a few of the characters and plot lines we have been shown in this awesome first episode.

Opening:   So damn creepy, they really know how to create an eerie tone with imagery and sound.  The cast is fantastic btw, so glad to see some people from last season back—especially Evan Peters

The Lovers: This is a really awesome wrap around story and I love how it is presenting in the present day.  It is such an easy way for the creators to introduce the story and give a brief overview of the asylum and its celebrity patients.  I wonder if it will continue the entire season because I have no idea what else can happen from here other then: will they survive?

Bloody Face: I love that this killer is set up as a big, bad, dangerous mother fucker and it’s just Evan Peters—who’s character seems physically weak and harmless (before his encounter)— I find that so ironic because I was expecting someone else.

It will be interesting to explore his story for the rest of the season.  Was he really abducted or is he really insane? I would like to think he was abducted, but you can never be too sure in these sorts of shows. I got such A Clockwork Orange flashback while he was on the table being operated on.

Sister Jude: It really is the Jessica Lange show.  I love how her character is a mean bitch to the patients and Sister Mary but she is also positioned as the good guy against Dr. Arthur Arden. She also has a softer side with the romantic interest she has in Monsignor Howard, which will be interesting as it unfolds.  She is the one that connects all of the sub-plots together and I think she will be great this season.  I would like to know a little bit more about her, like why she is the way she is?  Has she always been like this?

Dr. Arthur Arden:  He seems like the big bad in this season.  I wonder what he is hiding.  It is obvious that it is some sort of animal/cannibal but why is he doing it?  He is a tad creepy in a mad doctor way.

Shelly: “You can shave my hair like a cue ball and I will still be the hottest tamale in this joint”.  Hilarious! Chloe Sevigny was born to place this character.  Was it just me or did her hair actually look really cool?  I would like to see more of her and I wonder how she will fit in this whole story, I hope she isn’t just a small character.

Lana Winters: I didn’t like Sarah Paulson in the last season but I really enjoyed her character in this one.  It will be interesting to see where her story will go from here.  Will she ever get out of the asylum?  Will she uncover the truth about the asylums secrets?  I guess the best place for her to get a story and investigate is being inside the place.  I also really dig that she is a lesbian, add’s a new dialect to her character.

Sister Mary Eunice: Sorry but I find her so annoying.  I just hate both the characters that Lily Rabe has played in American Horror Story, I can’t stand her.  She always plays weak, jittering and gullible female characters.  This will be hard to watch for me.

Overall, it was a great start to the season but I was disappointed that Zachary Quinto wasn’t in this episode.  It would have been great to see him in action.  Can’t wait for more!

V/H/S (2012) Review

V/H/S – 2012

Director/s: Radio Silence, David Bruckner, Gleen McQuaid, Ti West, Joe Swanberg, Adam Wingard.

Starring: Mainly unknowns

I had been waiting to watch V/H/S since I first heard about it at the start of the year when the guys on Pretty Much It were talking about it.  Once I saw the trailer I was sold.  It looked right up my alley.

As a fan of horror films I can say that I was very very happy with what I saw about 45 minutes ago.  Wow. Wow. Wow.  Some of the most original but in some cases disturbing stuff I have ever seen.

V/H/S is a horror film anthology which features five short films and one framing story.  The framing story is about a group of guys who are getting paid to break into a house and steal a VHS tape.  The guys have to watch the VHS tapes to fine the one they are looking for, that’s when the story films are played.

I can say that I didn’t dislike any of the shorts; the only thing that was potentially bothersome was the framing story.  I enjoyed them in this order:

1. 10/31/1998
Strength: It was funny but still maintained its horror.
Weakness:  It was a bit short for my liking

2. Tuesday the 17th
Strength: Originality with a the ‘camping’ horror
Weakness: The acting (even though I think it was forced to be that way)

3. Second Honeymoon
Strength: Everything that happened in it made sense in the end.
Weakness:  Went for too long.

4. The Sick Thing That Happened to Emily When She Was Younger
Strength: It went from cliché to original and I liked the twist on it.
Weakness: The webcam thing peeved me off at times.

5. Amateur Night
Strength: Story was put together great
Weakness: Too much was shown in trailers—gives it away (pretty much ruined it for me, still liked it none the less)

Overall, it’s a film that you have to suspend a bit of belief with, for example ‘why/how were all these tapes together and all transferred on to VHS tapes’ etc.  I found that the reasons why each event was actually filmed were valid—it would have been something that annoyed me if they weren’t.

I had a few peeves while watching the first minor one was the nudity.  I don’t like a lot of nudity in films and this one had A LOT, but I could live with it.  The massive peeve I had while watching the film was the fact that I was waiting to be shocked and scared for most of the time since each short’s story had to be set up.  Sometimes this period was too long and I just wanted it to get to the scare already.

I was disappointed though that some of the film was spoiled for me from the trailer and pictured still shots (mainly the first one).  I felt like if I hadn’t of known about some stuff happening it would have been better.  So don’t watch the trailers!

SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS

Amateur Night:

This one was spoiled for me a lot from the trailer etc, I really think most people will know what is going to happen in this short because of this.  I found that the glasses camera was way cool, but I hated the tension that builded up when he was waiting to leave the hotel room and when he was stuck at the bottom of the stairs—not it a good way, it really annoyed me—maybe it was because I just wanted him to get away.  I enjoyed the vision of him running away from her and how he and was pulled up into the air in the end.

Second Honeymoon: The killing scene was so brutal!! My gosh!  It was so realistic that I had to look away.  I had a feeling while I was watching that either the husband or the wife was a part of it in some way. The killers mask is so freaky. I feel like everything that was mentioned in this short made sense in the end.

Tuesday the 17th:  I knew something was up with that chick in the car ride, I knew there was something more to her trip.  Such an original the idea: the killer, the reason why she wanted them all there and why she wanted to film.  Even though the acting was pretty average, I still enjoyed it because I felt like they were going for a bit of a ‘silly high school camping in the woods’ vibe so I dealt with it.

The Sick Thing That Happened to Emily When She Was Younger:  Mind blown, you could have never guessed how it would end.  After I finished watching it I just sat there thinking ‘what just happened!’  So original and weird as hell.  It does a complete 180 on you!

10/31/1998:  I found this one really funny.  My favourite part is when they start chanting with the creepy cult; just joining in with the ‘show’ and the cult just looks at them like ‘what are you doing in here?’  To have them go to the wrong address and end up at a real haunted house is such a brilliant idea. Classic!  The effects in this one were awesome and creative.

SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS

I got to say it was great, there is a bit of something for everybody with all the classic motifs of horror being explored and I actually wished there was more while watching it. I could have watched it all day!
Rating: 8.5/10

Long time no post

Hi there!

Us you know I haven't wrote a post in a while. That has had to do with the massive amount of work I have been getting from Uni and the large amount of hours I have been working at IGA.

I haven't really found the time to be able to write up a post!
I have now got blogger on my phone so hopefully in my spear time away from the computer (and time on the computer) I might be able to find more time to post.

I really do love posting in this blog and I hope to do much more in the future!

More reviews will be coming soon and some more bits and pieces about my life.

Since I last blogged this is what I have been up to...

Making awesome cupcakes.  I think I have found a new hobby.  Will be defiantly posting more of my cupcake creations!

Finding weird ass energy drinks.

Going to the football and supporting my boyfriend's team.

Owning at bat tennis.  I was the running champ at my cousins 21st.  I think I must of won 15 odd games in a row!

Owning at table tennis. Well... giving the champion a run for his money...

Going to Melbourne with my friends and helping them complete a list of things we had to accomplish!  I helped out with the dance off, take a photo with someones glasses (unable to obtain photo) on and have someone offer to buy you a drink.  YOLO!

Until next time,

REVIEW: Hick

Hick - 2011

Director: Derick Portes
Written: Andrea Portes
Staring: Chloё Grace Moretz, Blake Lively, Eddie Redmayne, Juliette Lewis, Rory Culkin and Alec Baldwin

Inspired by the novel of the same name, Hick, is a coming-of-age story of 13-year-old Luli played by Hit Girl, ChloÑ‘ Grace Moretz, or it is said to be... Once Luli, sets out on her Vegas-bound journey and meets red-neck cowboy Eddie (Eddie Redmayne) and cocaine loving Glenda (Blake Lively), the film’s main plot is lost in a bunch of poor flowing scenes with more mood changes than Tom Cruise changes wives.
There is just to many things to comment on within this film that i could go on all day.  So to save you good people time, with both, seeing this film and getting on with your day - here it is.
Hick Review in 10 points
1. Potential at the start of the film... then  downhill from there.
2. Her name is what? Luli?
3. I love the gifts she gets at her birthday.  Very ironic for a bunch of hicks.
4. Juliette Lewis plays the drunken red-neck she only knows how to play too well, fantastically.
5. Blake Lively actually does a half-decent hick accent. Surprised? I was. I still don't like her though.
6. Eddie Redmayne doesn't give us much in the acting department, I didn't even know what his characters deal was.  That is a bad sign.
7.  I found myself 45 minutes into the film trying to remember what the plot was.
8. Good soundtrack.  Some Bob Dylan never hurt anyone.
9. Rory Culkin's cameo is pointless... really.
10. And so was Alec Baldwin's... so much for all star cast.

After the many film references and its visually appealing final credits, Hick is overall just one big hick-up, easy to handle at first, but then slowly becomes more painful.

Best Part: Luli film impersonations.
Worst Part: Blake Lively's nails. YUK!
Memorable Quote: None... sadly.

Sydney!

Hi all!

I am currently in Sydney! Why Sydney you ask?

Well, I am here on business. I am starting tomorrow my placement for university at none other then Empire Magazine!
I am so excited and can't wait to see what happens while I am there.

Apart from seeing land marks such as, The Sydney Harbour Bridge and the Opera House, finally getting to Sydney was a challenge.

The plane that we flew up on had to be delayed for a few hours, turns out it was due to some dirty computer cords. Yay.

Can't wait for what tomorrow brings.

My Top 10 Favourite Films

Hi Everybody,
My top 10 favourite film list is not a list of films that are cinematicly the best, but are the ones that I find the most entertaining to watch. All of the films in the top 10 are films that I can easily say that I could watch over and over again.

1. Batman (1989)
2. Sin City (2004)
3. Scream (1996)
4. Pulp Fiction (1994)
5. Sleepy Hollow (1999)
6. The Lost Boys (1987)
7. Clueless (1995)
8. The Wedding Singer (1998)
9. The Royal Tenenbaums (2001)
10. Watchmen (2009)

Honorable Mentions

American Psycho (2000)
Mean Girls (2004)
Who Framed Roger Rabbit (1988)
The Goonies (1985)
The Dark Knight (2008)

I am a fan of dark films but also very much comedies.  I love superhero films but I prefer more of a look into the darker side of them, which both Batman and Watchmen do.  I like clever films with original concepts.  I can safely say that half of these films are adaptions of an original source but I like the originally in the way that they have been adapted for the screen.

I am surprised that only three films from the 00s are in the top 10, I did grow up in the 90s after all so I am not surprised that films I grew up watching have appeared.

I am not a big fan of all of the academy award winning films, I appreciate them but find them less entertaining then a film that doesn't take itself to seriously.

Finally some viral!

I am stocked that The Dark Knight Rises has finally started up some of their viral campaign again! I have been waiting ages for this and I think that it is a great time to start it up again, even though earlier would have been great.

Over at Batman-News.com it has been stated that on this webpage snippets of the trailer are revealed when people take a picture at the destination that is stated in the viral investigation report at this page.

I say if you are close to any of the locations on the list, get cracking! A lot of the trailer has been revealed already but more is better. The trailer will be shown with The Avengers in America on the 4 May, in Australia we were not so lucky and didn't get to see it, so I am looking forward to it!

Very excited, this has been a great viral strategy. Looking forward to more as soon as it comes!

REVIEW: The Avengers

The Avengers - 2012

Director - Joss Whedon
Written by - Zak Penn and Joss Whedon
Staring - Robert Downy Jr, Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Mark Ruffalo, Jeremy Renner, Tom Hiddleston and Samual L. Jackson
Plot - S.H.I.E.L.D. brings together a team, The Avengers, to fight against Loki, who is threathening to take over Earth.

Going into The Avengers I'm sad to say, I wasn't really really pumped for it.  I was excited to see it however, but wasn't on the hype train.  Overall it was a good film that brings what it promises.  It is filled with  non-stop action, a major star cast and a decent plot. But there were a few things that I couldn't help but hate in it.

I love the direction, Joss Whedon did a great job.  I noticed a lot of nicely positioned camera angles that complimented the story very well.  Visually this film was great, the CGI wasn't bad, there were a few bits when they were flying that looked bad though.

The acting was the best part of the film for me.  I think the writers did a great job in incorporating all the characters in the film as much as they could.  But I cant help but think that some characters like Thor where under used surprisingly...  I would have loved to see a cameo from Natalie Portman to tie in with Thor, I felt like that would have added a bit more to his screen time. I also felt that Cobie Smulders' character Agent Maria Hill was quite useless.  However,  I do have a feeling that she might make an appearance in the next Captain America film.  I smell a new love interest in the air, due to her and Captain America eye balling each other off, so I'm letting her awkward role in this film slide. I was surprised that there wasn't much romance in it, but I think that this element would have taken to long to develop and take away interest into the main plot.

The writing was okay, I'm sure if you grew up reading the comics that some of the content would be right up your ally, but sometimes I didn't understand what was going on.  It was great to see Captain America grow into the role of the leader of the Avengers, this development is present in the film and is worked in very well.  The best thing about the writing was the humorous lines of dialogue that was present, the film didn't take itself to seriously which i liked.  This worked well in a film like this,  I found that The Hulk generated a lot of laughs as well as Iron Man.

SPOILER ALERT SPOILER ALERT SPOILER ALERT SPOILER ALERT

I thought the character of Agent Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg) seemed a bit goofy in the film but I grew to like him a lot more then I had expected.  From what I had seen of his cameos in the other films I didn't find him very interesting.  But in The Avengers his character had a engaging touch to the audience due to his fan-boy love of Captain America and the way he cherished his collectible cards.  Basically, he was set-up to die. I felt that the audience I was with really felt bad when he died.  I'm glad his character was developed in this film the was it was.

It would have been good to incorporate another villain into it too,  but I guess at the end they introduce the possibility of another film with introducing some alien dude that people believe to be Thanos.

SPOILER ALERT SPOILER ALERT SPOILER ALERT SPOILER ALERT

If its action that you want, an all-star cast, references from the comics with a humorous touch - this would be the film for you.  I don't think fans of the comics will be disappointed. I don't think it was the best superhero movie of all time (I'm a DC person) but I can see why people think it is.

Best Part: The Hulk's fighting style.
Worst Part: Don't understanding some of the content.
Memorable Quote: Tony Stark: No offence, but I don't play well with others.  Steve Rogers: Big man, in a suit of armour... take that away, what are you? Tony Stark: Uh... genius, billionaire, playboy, philanthropist...
